How a key gets made

Six steps, no surprises. The quote is set before I head out and the price does not change when I arrive.

    You call or book

    Emergency callers get the phone. Spare-key callers can book online. Either way the request comes to me directly and the current response time is stated honestly.

  2. 02

    Quote confirmed before I head out

    Make, year, key type, whether the vehicle is drivable, and time of day set the range. The quote is confirmed on the phone. I do not head out until you agree to it.

  3. 03

    We come to the car

    No tow. We bring the cutting machine, blanks, and programmers. The work happens where the vehicle sits — a street, a lot, a garage, a driveway.

  4. 04

    Ownership verified

    Before any key is cut or programmed, the registration or title in your name and a matching photo ID are checked. This is required, not optional.

  5. 05

    Key made and tested

    The blank is cut to code, the transponder is paired to the immobilizer, and the key is tested against the vehicle before I leave.

  6. 06

    You pay the quoted range

    Nothing is added on site. If the job could not be completed — for example a dealer-only vehicle — you are told before the charge.

Proof of ownership, stated as a feature

A key that starts a car is a powerful thing to make. The only honest way to run this trade is to require proof that the car is yours before any key is cut. That means the registration or the title in your name, plus a photo ID that matches it.

This protects every owner of every vehicle this business touches, and it deters the kind of request that no honest locksmith should accept. It is the reason a key made through Mystic Auto Key cannot be used to steal a car. Stated as a feature, not as a hurdle — because it is exactly what keeps honest customers safe.

If the paperwork is not at the car

Arrange to have it brought to the vehicle, or send a photo ahead to dispatch for pre-verification. The key cannot be cut without it. There is no exception and there is no way around it — for anyone, ever.
